Puzzle games sized for a coffee break
Not every puzzle game needs to swallow an afternoon. The best ones fit into the gap between meetings or the wait for a kettle to boil.
I look for puzzles with clean single-screen levels and instant restarts. If I have to sit through an ad or a loading bar every time, the break's over before the fun starts.
Sorting and matching mechanics, like the middle mode in Big Bass 3in1, are ideal here — you can complete a satisfying round in under two minutes and put the phone down.
Keep two or three of these installed and rotate them. Variety keeps any one from feeling like a chore when you reach for it on a break.
